Where do the workshops take place?

In Porto, Lisbon, Istanbul, Marrakesh and Mumbai. Other cities open when five people confirm interest.

How long is a workshop and how many people are in the group?

Four full days. Groups are limited to eight participants, and an edition runs with a minimum of five confirmed.

How much does a workshop cost?

Between 700 and 785 euros per person, depending on the city. A deposit of 25 per cent secures the place.

What is included in the fee?

Four days of guidance in the street, theory each morning, daily review and group critique, individual feedback, and your page on the workshop platform.

What is not included?

Flights, transport, accommodation, meals, insurance and personal expenses.

Do I need an expensive camera?

No. Any camera with manual control works. Most participants shoot the four days on a single lens around 28mm, 35mm or 50mm.

Is the workshop suitable for beginners?

It suits anyone who already knows the basics of their camera and can change aperture, shutter and ISO while walking. The focus is on seeing and narrative rather than technical fundamentals.

What language is the workshop in?

Most editions are taught in English. French speaking editions run in partnership with Arvia.

What happens if it rains?

The plan adapts and we keep photographing. Rain changes the light and often improves the work.

What do I leave with at the end?

A documentary story about the city, edited and sequenced, rather than a folder of separate pictures.

Do we review the photographs during the workshop?

Yes. Every morning the previous day's photographs go on the screen and are discussed frame by frame with the whole group.

Can I bring someone who does not photograph?

Yes. Companions are welcome and manage their own time during the shooting sessions. The fee applies only to participants.

Does the platform close when the workshop ends?

No. Your page stays open with no time limit. If you shoot a series months later you can upload it and receive an honest reading of it.

Cape Town to Nairobi

In 2023, I cycled from Cape Town to Nairobi on an electric bicycle — over 6,000 kilometers through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Kenya.

Alone, with a camera and a mission: to document a continent in motion.
